Peter Jackson (Professor, School of Operations Research and Information Engineering) was awarded funding for his proposal to teach a one-week course entitled, "Llenroc Plastics" that will be taught at the Ecole Centrale in Paris in May 2010.

Jackson is a Professor in the School of Operations Research and Information Engineering as well as the Director of the Systems Engineering Program in the College of Engineering.

Grit Matthias (Lecturer in German, German Studies) was awarded funding for her course development project relating to the use of creating a digital video platform for language learners and enabling collaboration and interaction. In this context, Matthias will develop an intercultural class project for Cornell students at the University Bielefeld in Germany using digital video as a dominant means of communication.

Cecilia Alm (Lecturer in Swedish, German Studies) was awarded funding to participate in the 100th annual meeting of the Society for the Advancement of Scandinavian Studies in Seattle; and to travel to the 2010 New Directions in Medieval Scandinavian Studies Conference in New York City.
